What the Field Requests page is for
What technicians ask for from the field, in a queue the office answers: reschedule this, reassign that, cancel the other.

A technician on site knows things the schedule does not: the building is locked, the customer wants Thursday instead, the job needs someone with a different certification. Field Requests is the channel for that knowledge. The technician raises the request in the field app; it lands here with the job attached; the office approves or denies it and the technician sees the answer.

Open Field Requests
Who it is for
The dispatcher and the office manager, who decide; and every technician, who asks.
Without it
A change from the field is a phone call or a text. The dispatcher hears it once, acts on it or forgets it, and there is no record that the technician asked or that the office answered.
What it shows
A list of requests with All, Pending, Approved and Denied tabs. Each request shows its type (Reschedule, Reassignment or Cancellation), the job and technician it concerns, and the technician's note. Pending requests carry Approve and Deny actions; resolved ones keep their outcome. A request can be deleted.
What it is worth
  • One queue instead of a phone. Every request arrives in the same place with the job attached, so nothing is lost between the truck and the desk.
  • A decision, on the record. Approved or Denied, by whom and when, visible to the technician who asked.
  • The three changes that matter. Reschedule, Reassignment and Cancellation cover what a technician can actually need changed about a job.
Pays for itself the first reschedule that is approved from the Pending tab before the technician has left the parking lot.

Where to go next

  • An approved reschedule or reassignment still has to be placed. Put the job on its new day or technician in Scheduling.
  • The job a request concerns opens from All Jobs, where its dashboard and History show what changed.
  • Office follow-ups that come out of a request (call the customer, order the part) belong in Tasks.

Good to know

  • Requests are raised in the field app, not here. This page answers them; it does not create them.
  • Three request types. Reschedule, Reassignment and Cancellation. Anything else is a note on the job or a task.
  • Approving does not move the job. The decision is recorded; the scheduling change is made on the board.
  • Resolved requests stay in the list. Approved and Denied tabs are the record; only Delete removes one.
